mahobay7, you are retarded. A kid does not some ****** ass plant that curls up when tickled. What they want is a game that challenges them, and as your bassic Cranium or other board games cannot do that, I would suggest something challenging for a 7 year old, maybe like Metroid Prime 3: Corruption. Plenty of puzzles, a good shooter/action game, a legacy already built, and on the Wii, whose remote should provid the altimate Metroid expierence. Note: This refers to children and pre-teens, not teenagers, who would find the game dumb compared to the other options. (see last note for examples of those options)

I think the game to get this Christmas is Rock Band. Those of you that think its a knock off of Guitar hero are wrong. Rock band is made by Harmonix, the company that made guitar hero 1, 2, and rocks the 80's. Give it a chance. Don't write it off as a knock off. I have played the demo and I think that it is great.

Well, honestly, I fit in this '13+' bracket.. Though I agree that Guitar Hero 3 is most certainly an entertaining game, but 'Ratchet and Clank' isn't something I'd find terribly interesting. Mario Galaxy might be a bit difficult for the 6-10 age group, it really belongs in the 13+ category, as most 6-10 year olds would not be able to get very far in the game. They'd quickly lose interest. "seansmeow" is correct, Mass Effect, Call of Duty 4 (of course!), Assassins Creed - all are very good games that are actually played by the 13+ age group. These games, however, may not be something that the over-protective parent would want to buy for say, their 13 year old. Oh, and I forgot to mention - Do NOT get Rock Band for your son/daughter, it's just another cheap knock-off of the Guitar Hero craze.
