Based on the just released X-Men Origins: Wolverine movie of the same name, the video game delivers a satisfying continuation of the on-screen action with visceral combat and dramatic special effects. As the Adamantium-clawed hero, you'll fight your way through gorgeous jungles, top secret labs and other locales slashing enemies to pieces, decapitating one of them with a helicopter's rotor and impaling others on spikes. Limbs sail in all directions, heads roll (literally) and even Wolverine takes realistic damage that allows you to see torn flesh and exposed bone.
It's without question one of the best movie-licensed video games in stores and a satisfying action romp for X-Men fanatics. Rapidly pressing the same buttons to slaughter similar looking bad guys eventually grows repetitive, and the game chugs when the bigger monsters hit the screen, but overall, you'll enjoy carving evildoers like lunch meat and battling familiar foes from the comic books and this week's film. Make sure you play it, bub.
