X2: Wolverine's Revenge

(Music: I Stand Alone: Godsmack) I am a huge Wolverine fan, been one since I was kid reading the comics back in the early 90’s. After the incredibly dissapointing 2003 release of X2: Wolverine's Revenge, and the other sub par Wolverine games, I was skeptical about X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Could there actually be a good Wolverine Game? As a movie tie in? Yes. As a standalone game? Kind of. First off, this game shows the full brutality of what Wolverine's Adamantium claws can do. Heads and limbs going flying off, tons of blood and gore abound. Some newer fans of Wolverine from the movies may not like this, but being a Wolverine fan before the films and the cartoons, I loved it. Wolverine is brutal, and that's the way he needs to be shown. Another thing going well for this game is the fact that Hugh Jackman lends his voice, and the character model is a big standout. The other characters look pretty good, but the enviornments are just so-so. Also, you can see the all the injuries that Wolverine sustains throought the game. The more injured, the more blood and skin is ripped from his body. Wolverine has a descent game time, around 8-10 hours on Normal, and it's increditbly easy because of the fact that your healing ability is so fast. Also, there is no multiplayer. There are some unlockables, like new costumes. Overall, X-Men Origins: Wolverine is a fun short game, but it suffers from a lack of replayability. I would suggest a rental.
