The second positive is Xbox Live. Unlike SmackDown vs. Raw you can compete against people from around the world in numerous match types. Plus, even though you can do this in SmackDown, you can create championship belts and defend them. As for online play, setting up games is a breeze and things for the most part run smoothly.

Lastly, the wrestlers and the rest of the WWE staff did a fantastic job with their voiceovers. SmackDown and Raw's respective ring announcers sound great, and even the commentary (while it's stiff and lines are often repeated) adds some personality to the game. Finally, the acting during Career Mode is impressive. The WWE Superstars aren't as engaging as they are on television, but their work is clearly the best that I have ever heard in a game.

So that's the only positive things that I have to say. The rest of Wrestlemania is an absolute mess, starting with the ring entrances. While for the most part they're fairly accurate, Studio Gigante made some awkward decisions. Often times when a match starts the first wrestler's music has already begun playing, and some of it doesn't sound good at all. For example, Randy Orton's theme music and his crowd chant is on a constant loop that repeats every few seconds. Other annoyances are minor, such as how Eddie Guerrero's entrance begins with him standing next to the car that I assume he drove to the ring, even though in SmackDown vs. Raw you actually see him driving it. What happens after matches is also strange. Just look at what the Undertaker does. I've been watching him wrestle for over a decade and never once has he looked down at his beaten opponent, laughed like a mad man and paraded around the ring with both fists in the air (maybe during his biker days, but those are long gone). I mean seriously Studio Gigante! Do you even watch wrestling?

Presentation is also lacking at the conclusion of each match. As soon as you pin someone (good luck trying to pin, by the way), the game goes through its post match transitions by having this logo (usually from the event that you're at) pass by the screen. Unfortunately, the game goes nuts when this happens. The commentary stops and starts, the wrestler animation gets choppy. It actually looks like the game is about to crash, but like a cat with a hairball it eventually coughs it up and goes about its business. You'll be treated to a replay that more often than not shows how boring your match was (another win via power slam), and after the game hacks up some more hairballs you watch your superstar celebrate his or her victory. This usually lasts for only a few seconds and is abruptly cut off (even the announcer gets interrupted), and for some reason the winning wrestler's theme music is barely audible. I don't know why developers can't get it through their heads that what happens after the match is sometimes just as exciting as what occurs before.

If the game's various bells and whistles aren't enough to anger you its gameplay most certainly will. Studio Gigante decided to keep things slow in what I hope was an attempt to make things more realistic, but matches don't have any flow, mainly because the controls are at times pretty annoying. Switching between wrestlers is a chore, attempting pins is extremely frustrating because you need to press DOWN+A when you're near the body of your opponent (why can't pinning be assigned to a single #^$&#^$ button), you can get hit from someone going off the top rope before they touch you (the game's collision detection is way off), and even getting up from the mat is a pain in the butt. If you don't press the right button all you'll do is roll around, and a smart opponent will continue to put the boots to you and keep you down.
