As part of their Q1 2009 fiscal report, Activision Blizzard revealed some of the highlights from the early part in the year. In particular, the company emphasized the success of Guitar Hero World Tour, which was the top selling third-party title during the period, according to the NPD. The music title was also the best selling Wii third-party title in the U.S. and Europe, ranking in the system's top five in data from NPD, Charttrack and Gfk. In particular, Charttrack and Gfk report that European sales for the Guitar Hero series grew 84 percent year-over-year.

Blizzard's World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King retained the top spot among U.S. PC games, according to the NPD. Activision Blizzard had three of the top 10 best selling PC titles. On the mobile front, Activision also revealed that Crash Bandicoot Nitro Kart was the top paid 'app' for the iPhone of all time.
