One player claims that his method, based on real-world economics, can help anyone make bank in the game.

Meet Brad Johnson. At only 25 years of age and empowered by an economics degree, Brad claims that you can make a ton of virtual money in World of Warcraft by wisely leveraging the simulated economy. Insisting that his method is rock-solid, he devised a method and a program to help other would-be MMO millionaires live the good life on their respective realms. He calls it the Warcraft Millionaire program, and for a fee, enterprising WoW players can get in on the action.
We took some time to sit down with Brad to ask him about his program and his motivation for creating it.
Tell us a bit about yourself? Are you the Warcraft Millionaire full time these days?
For starters, I am self-employed and the Warcraft Millionaire is one of my pet projects I have in my portfolio. At the beginning, I started World of Warcraft with the intention of hacking people to bits but realized my true calling was that I had a knack for making gold.
You say on your site that the idea for the program sprang from so many people asking you for gold-gathering advice. Was there a specific incident or breaking point where you thought that you should be getting paid for this?
It started off innocently as always being the go-to guy to check prices of items and whether it was a good time to wait or sell selected items. There was a point where a stack of Thorium Bars was going for less than 3g stack. This was about two months before Burning Crusade expansion was launched. I knew it would be worth much more when once the expansion arrived because of the new Jewelcrafting profession as well as Blacksmithing requiring it to continue leveling past 300. True enough, when Burning Crusade launched, prices of thorium soared to nearly 25g a stack. I created 2 alts just to store the bars and had over 200 stacks. That's 800% profit right there.
Now the thing was, I had informed others of my price speculation and my friends and guildies were competing with me buying these bars and this drove prices to over 6g on my server (this was very expensive then as there was no real use for them). I had become a victim of my own speculations, spawning my own competition. That's when I thought, "Hey, I just lost out on over 5000g" and back then that was going for $400!
What sets your program apart from other FAQs and gold gathering guides?
This guide is different because it's a thinking man's guide. You can relate it to real life. It's not about going out and killing 60 mobs an hour or aiming for 100g an hour. That's like working for a fixed salary. My guide's objective is to train the reader to be an entrepreneur rather than an employee because that's where the real gold is. You don't want to be working for gold; you want gold to be working for you!
How do you explain your sixth sense for figuring out every nook and cranny of WoW and other MMOs?
Applying the basic principles of economics have actually helped me to get to where I am, much faster than the mindless grinding of countless mobs.
