The latest gala for fans of Warcraft, Diablo and StarCraft will have exclusive coverage from DirecTV. Tickets will go on sale for the third annual BlizzCon on August 11, and they'll probably go very quickly.

Blizzard Entertainment announced today that ticket sales for BlizzCon 2008 will become available August 11. Simultaneously, the gaming company behind World of Warcraft announced that DirecTV will provide live coverage of the event as part of an an exclusive pay per view event. BlizzCon 2008 will take place October 10 – 11 in the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California.
"Meeting and interacting with our players at BlizzCon is always a great experience for us," stated Mike Morhaime, CEO and cofounder of Blizzard Entertainment. "We're also pleased to be working with DirecTV this year to bring the show, for the first time, to those players who are unable to attend."
Tickets to BlizzCon will be available at www.blizzcon.com for $100 apiece.

I can understand charging to go to Blizzcon event, but to have a pay per view...That seems like its going a little overboard. Don't get me wrong I think that Blizzard Entertainment is the greatest and I would buy any game that they put out with no questions asked. But this just seems a little crazy.
