After many months of making gamers wait impatiently in anticipation for its release, the Sony PlayStation Portable has finally hit shelves. Or rather, it's hit the hands of many anticipating gamers, as it can barely be found on shelves at this time. With its arrival, you've probably already picked up a number of outstanding games for it, like Wipeout Pure and Ridge Racer among others. So now, the question is, what can we expect that's bound to make waves for the system over the next few months? Is it something as simple as a classic game collection or perhaps a franchise revisited for portable glory?

Here now is a look at five of the top titles that look to be making some waves come E3, as well as with a release later in the year. These are just some ideas of what to expect, and, with this market, the next big hit could be announced right around the corner. Keep in mind that this method is how Ubisoft's Lumines snuck up on us.

1. Devil May Cry- Dante has already made enough substantial waves to wake the dead in his latest PlayStation 2 opus Devil May Cry 3: Dante's Awakening, but what about a portable adventure? Wonder no further, as Capcom is currently hard at work at bringing the legendary demon slayer to the PSP. This game is promising to pack enough of the thrilling gameplay elements from the series into the portable UMD format, as well as vivid graphics and the kind of kick-ass presentation that would leave Dracula cowering in his crypt. One only hopes that it stays away from the format that almost shut the series down with Devil May Cry 2.

2. Marvel Nemesis: Rise of the Imperfects- Electronic Arts' forthcoming brawling game will actually mark a first for the PSP, as it will be a title that is coming out at the same time as its PS2 brethren. The game will feature a wide variety of familiar Marvel characters, as well as several new faces designed by Marvel and EA staffers to assure the kind of heroic (and villainous) looks to keep comic book fans going on their journey. Learn combos and special moves and master your own domain, bub- it needs defending.

3. Namco Museum- I know what you're thinking to yourself- how in the hell can a game consisting of several regular and remodulated arcade classics somehow be considered a must have priority title? Look inside your hearts, people, and you'll find a hardcore, old-school gaming maniac just itching to get out and play Asteroids for any given number of hours. This new collection features not only the original likes of Galaga, Pac-Man and Rally-X, but also remixed versions that take full use of the PSP's graphical prowess. Enjoy the classics!

4. Grand Theft Auto- Hey, why not? When Rockstar released three consecutive GTA adventures for the PlayStation 2, each one sold many millions of copies and soon became a household name amongst gamers, concerned families, and congressmen of all types. Now comes the portable edition, and Rockstar is assuredly promising that the game will pack all the frantic action that the series has been known for, as well as an interface that will truly compliment those looking to seep into a life of crime. Hopefully we'll hear back on this one as its May release date approaches.

5. Gran Turismo 4 Mobile- Finally, we come to Sony's magnificent-looking racing game, the jam-packed GT4. This game will feature a few bonus cars and tracks not included in the original PS2 game, as well as killer presentation and a few bonus modes that are worth taking a look at. Hopefully, Sony will find it in their hearts to incorporate some kind of online or wi-fi gameplay so gamers can go against each other in their souped-up rides and consider themselves king of the digital road. Let's just hope that those hungry for a ride won't get too much so along the way- the next rest stop doesn't hit for several miles.
