Nintendo Hosts Wii Boxing Night in Santa Monica (WII)

Women duke it out Wii-boxing style to win a new console.

Nintendo and local Santa Monica sports bar Busby's teamed up this Thursday night for 'Wii Boxing in the City,' a ladies-only boxing tournament. Eight women entered the competition, swinging left jabs and upper cuts while the(increasingly inebriated) crowd cheered on their favorites. The battle ended when Ashley G.'s fierce Mii delivered a fatal blow to Angela C.'s. Even so, both finalists were winners; Ashley took home a new Nintendo Wii, Angela, a copy of Guitar Hero 3 for Wii.

Nintendo told us that bars all over the country have had extremely popular Wii tournament nights. With the Wii on the verge of surpassing the Xbox 360 in units sold, we're not surprised.
