Wii Sports is one of the best selling titles in Japan where it is not bundled with the hardware, so the success of that game's follow up seemed almost assured. Indeed, Famitsu [thanks Kotaku] is reporting that Wii Sports Resort has sold over 353,827 copies in its first four days of availability.

Wii Sports Resort is now the third fastest selling Wii title in Japan behind Mario Kart Wii with 608,000 units and Super Smash Bros. Brawl with 816,000 sold. The game, which is bundled with the Wii MotionPlus, will launch July 26, 2009 in the U.S.

IndustryGamers expects Wii Sports Resort to not only give the Wii a lift during the Summer, but to also help ensure that the system will be a rare commodity on store shelves for the fourth holiday in a row.
