Big Idea's Veggie Tales comes to us with a new installment, Larry Boy and the Bad Apple! Larry the Cucumber, with the help of his butler and friend Alfred, decides to help rid the city of crime and mayhem, and especially chocolate thieves! Donned in a purple mask with plungers for ears, Larry goes under the alias LarryBoy to go after Bumblyburg's latest villain, the Bad Apple who is trying to take control and make the citizens give in to their temptations.

The Bad Apple lures LarryBoy to her lair with a hearty box of chocolates and you join LarryBoy in what is essentially Willy Wonka's house. Everything is made of candy and chocolate, complete with a chocolate river. LarryBoy is locked in his biggest temptaion and must do everything to get out, (but I have to say, why would you want to leave that place!?). After you fight through LarryBoy's temptations, you come to find out that other citizens have been locked in their own, ranging from everything to a game obsessed world!

To get through the levels you hop along, jumping and double jumping, and even gliding with a snazzy purple cape. That same cape has added abilities, the Whirlybird Attack where you spin like crazy and smash some guards. If you use it too much though, you will get dizzy. The cape can also act as a weight that will help to open doors and unlock various things. As you go through, you collect colorful music notes and sheets of music that unlock mini games, little movies and even songs. The mini games are cute LarryBoy twists on familiar favorites.

The game is easy, and I really enjoyed the graphics and story line. The only things that really bothered me were that when you repeated any missions, there was Alfred saying the same things over and over and over again. That got annoying. You could also control what LarryBoy was looking at with the right analog stick and it was difficult to pay attention to that when you just wanted to play. I liked this game and I would definitely recommend it for young kids, especially anyone a fan of the Veggie Tale franchise.

Our Final ScoreMediocre
