The original Uncharted: Drake's Fortune was one of the PS3's top titles for the 2007 holiday season. A year later, it remains one of the best looking titles on the platform. With a solid 88 on Metacritic, Uncharted has a legion of fans eagerly awaiting a sequel. Today, that sequel was revealed on the official PlayStation blog and in the new issue of GameInformer.

Uncharted 2: Among Thieves once again puts players in the shoes of Nathan Drake who, according to GameInformer, "returns with a whole new adventure which revolves around the 13th century explorer Marco Polo and his voyages. The new PlayStation 3 title will add a free climbing mechanic and stealth gameplay. Players can also expect all-new locations, characters and a focus on the game's story."

Sony mentioned that the world premiere trailer for the new Uncharted will be shown during the 2008 Video Game Awards show, which airs December 14, at 9:00 PM on Spike. In the meantime, check out the teaser from GameTrailers.
