Former SCEA Santa Monica Studios designer and current co-founder of Eat, Sleep, Play, David Jaffe gave fans a reason to cheer today as he announced more details around his upcoming Twisted Metal: Head-On: Extreme Edition, a continuation of the the game series that first got him noticed by gamers after his work on Twisted Metal: Black.
Twisted Metal: Head-On: Extreme Edition is the company's first effort to take the former PlayStation 2-only Twisted Metal: Head-On and bring it to the PSP. Rather than just show off a few screenshots, Jaffe's message on the PlayStation Blog also came with a video to show future players what to expect.
While Jaffe doused the flames to say that his new studio isn't a "port house" to bring the PlayStation 2 game to PSP, he says that his team is working on adding new levels, bonus features and updated graphics.
Eat, Sleep, Play left Sony with a deal to create three games for the PlayStation 3 and Jaffe hinted at talking more about one of those games for PlayStation Network soon. Given the designer's reintroduction with the first game that brought him fame, one has to wonder if one of the three PlayStation 3 games might be Twisted Metal related.
