Recently, it was announced on Mutable Realms' webpage that Wish, a MMORPG, was cancelled. The project had just entered it's Beta 2.0 phase. Now, the Wish Beta has ended, the forums have been shut down and Mutable Realms continued existence has been called into serious doubt.
"We enjoyed working together with our fans very much, and we are very sorry about this development," said the news post, signed 'Mutable Realms Team'. "We wish you the best of luck in the future, and hope that you continue to enjoy online gaming, even with Mutable Realms and Wish not being available anymore."
This past year has been a rough period for MMORPGs that haven't featured "Warcraft" in the title. In the last 12 months, five MMORPGs well into development have been cancelled. This includes Ultima X, Dragon Empires, True Fantasy Live Online, Mythica and now, Wish. Games Workshop withdrew it's support from Warhammer Online, but developer Climax Entertainment is still hoping to sell the game to another publisher.
