Atari confirmed earlier today that Transformers, the PlayStation 2 exclusive title based on the 20-year-old mega franchise from Hasbro, has gone gold. The title is primed (no pun intended) for a May 11th release worldwide.

The game, which is developed by Atari's Melbourne House, is a fast-paced, third-person action shooter game featuring countless enemies, immense battles and intense boss fights spanning eight environments across the Earth and on Cybertron, the Autobots force's home world.
