Activision officially confirmed their support of Sony's PSP today. They are currently developing two games for the system: Spiderman 2 and Tony Hawk's Underground 2. Both titles are expected to accompany the PSP on its launch date.
"SCEA's PlayStation Portable Entertainment Platform is an exciting new platform that combines processing power with a sleek new look that will appeal to an older demographic," said Kathy Vrabeck, president of Activision Publishing. "By matching our top brands like Tony Hawk's Underground 2 and Spider-Man 2 with the new entertainment device, we are able to broaden our consumer base and leverage our franchises into new areas."
The PSP is currently set to ship on some unknown date in early 2005. Rumors have been swirling for months that the launch could be pushed back, due to anything and everything from price concerns to battery life. Still, Sony has maintained up until and through the recent Tokyo Game Show that the PSP would be shipping this year in Japan, early next in the US and other territories.
