SCi Entertainment today announced a statement with regards to a sale of the company. Since September 2007, the company has been entertaining offers for a buyout. However, SCi has not received a formal offer within the requested time frame and are thus no longer seeking buyers.

"The Company is announcing today that the Board no longer believes that a sale of the Company for its full value is likely to be achieved at the current time and has reached the view that it is not in the Company's or its Shareholders' interests to prolong these discussions further and therefore offer related discussions have been terminated today," said release by SCi. "However, as a result of these discussions certain commercial and strategic opportunities have emerged which the Company is continuing to explore and progress."

SCi also announced that Kane & Lynch: Dead Men has sold over one million copies worldwide, making its success so far comparable with that of Hitman: Blood Money. They also noted that Pony Friends on DS and Tomb Raider: Anniversary on Wii have sold quite well, with Pony selling over 600K units life-to-date and reorders already placed for Tomb Raider on Wii. SCi now plans to bring Tomb Raider: Underworld to NDS, Wii, and PS2 along with the previously announced PS3, PC and Xbox 360 versions.

That said, because Tomb Raider: Underworld and three other titles were moved into the fourth quarter, SCi is now expecting to post a full-year operating loss for fiscal 2008. "...the Board believes that these simultaneous multi-platform launches in the key buying period, optimizes the value that these franchises can deliver to the Company over the long term," SCi explained.
