Probably surprising no one, Ubisoft has posted strong Q4 earnings for the 2004 fiscal year. The game developer and publishing house has been on a roll with eight of its titles selling over 10 million units.

Some of the big titles were Splinter Cell weighing in at over 6 million units sold, Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow moving 1.7 million copies, Prince of Persia hitting 2.4 million sold and Rainbow Six 3 selling 2.2 million copies.

Ubisoft now ranks as the 5th top independent publisher in the U.S. and the 4th largest in the U.K. Ubisoft's markets break down with Europe leading at 49 percent of sales and the U.S. moving in at 47 percent, up from 40 percent last year.

Ubisoft numbers look quite promising, hitting 151.9 million euros in sales during Q4, putting the total of annual sales for 2004 at 508.4 million euros or $608 million. This is a 22.5 percent increase over last year's numbers.

"This year we have succeeded in creating two new brands: Far Cry and Prince of Persia, in addition to the success of Rainbow Six 3 on consoles. For Fiscal Year 2004/2005, we are going to pursue our strategy of creating brands while paying close attention to player expectations. We are also going to strengthen our internal studios by hiring 400 talented people in our Chinese and Canadian studios, thus ensuring the steady growth of our business," declared Yves Guillemot, President and CEO of Ubisoft.
