Ubi Soft Entertainment today announced that Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell has shipped for the Nintendo Game Boy Advance. Not only will Game Boy Advance owners be able to experience the thrill of the award-winning espionage thriller, but they also can hook up their GBA to their GameCube for special connectivity features. By connecting the GameCube to the GBA and completing the GameCube version, players will be treated to five exclusive levels on the GBA.
Splinter Cell is the first ever stealth action game to be released on Nintendo's handheld. The folks at Ubi Soft used a unique three-layer management system; the game creates a 3-layer background that allows for an interactive environment and the use of safe zones, simulating the gameplay of the original platforms.
Here are the game's standout features:
Comprehensive stealth techniques and action moves including split jumps, zip-lining, rappelling and using human shields make gameplay creative and fun.
Experimental intelligence gadgets based on real-life technologies such as night vision/thermal goggles, prototype weapons, non-lethal weapons, and surveillance gear give Fisher the edge against his enemies.
Eleven missions-featuring one training mission and one special mission-through eight realistic environments based on those from the Xbox version
Hide in the shadows thanks to an original depth management system that simulates 3D environments.
Three "boss fight" gameplay moments available only on the Game Boy Advance that allow players to go head to head against enemies.
Five new levels players can unlock after beating the game on the Game Boy Advance.
