Yet another chapter in the Tom Clancy universe is upon us, and this time it's Jungle Storm, an expansion pack to the acclaimed Ghost Recon. Once again, you'll take on the roles of the Ghosts, an elite division of the U.S. Army Green Berets, and deliver justice in a world of the not-so-distant future. This time your mission is to stop the Columbian drug cartel from the first game, which apparently has escaped intact after you freed Cuba.

The intense squad-based action that you come to expect from a Tom Clancy game is in full force here, but the biggest draw of Jungle Storm is the free online play. It will feature a broadband only network, which ensures the smooth connection essential for enjoyable online gameplay for those lucky enough to have broadband. A total of 31 multiplayer maps will be available for play with a total of ten multiplayer modes, three of which are new to this game. The online network will also keep track of statistics tracking and ladder rankings, so you can see how you stack up against the competition.

Another big feature of Jungle Storm is support of the PS2 Voice Communicator, available both offline and online. The game will have 160 voice commands to guide and lead your AI teammates offline, which is quite an amazing accomplishment. Of course, the most exciting use of the mic will be online, as you can chat with your teammates and plan strategy, much like SOCOM II.

To accompany the sure to be intense online gameplay is a packed single player campaign mode that includes the complete Island Thunder expansion pack set in post-Castro Cuba on the Xbox as well as a brand new campaign in Columbia. The game has received a facelift with much more colorful graphics and cinematics to further immerse you into the action. Ghost Recon has always been heavy with the tension and the atmosphere as you creep around the jungle and plan attacks, and Jungle Storm is sure to keep the tradition.

Jungle Storm is set to rock the PS2 online networks with online support finally for one of PS2's best tactical shooters. With a complete online experience backed up by a full single player campaign, this game will make Tom Clancy fans very, very happy. Ghost Recon: Jungle Storm ships in several weeks for the PS2.
