Ubisoft's new IP in the Tom Clancy universe, EndWar, isn't just for consoles anymore. In addition to the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions that will ship on November 4 (a PC version is slated for early '09), Ubisoft announced today that handheld versions for Sony's PSP and the Nintendo DS are also slated to release at the same time.
The portable versions are developed by Funatics Software and "optimized for the handheld platforms." The DS version features full stylus controls. The game takes place during a fictional World War III and players are put in command of an elite military force on the ground, in the air and on the seas.
Players can take control of the elite U.S. Joint Strike Force, European Enforcers Corps or Russian Spetsnaz Guards Brigade. Each faction can be led to victory in three separate but interconnected single-player campaigns. Furthermore, each of these campaigns includes over 30 battle scenarios taking place on real-world battlefields including Paris and London. Players may also fight against a friend in two-player battles as part of 100 ready-to-play scenarios or in custom player-created missions.
Tom Clancy's EndWar is rated T for "Teen."
