In case you haven't read our review, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09 is an excellent sports game, and to celebrate its arrival, Electronic Arts held a launch party at Strata (915 Broadway) in New York City. Well over 200 people attended, as well as the man himself, Tiger Woods. Too bad for us journalists, he didn't stick around long.
Several celebrities showed up, including Woods, Miss USA 2007 Rachel Smith, 2004 and 2008 Olympic gold medalist Misty May-Treanor and 14 time Olympic gold medalist Michael Phelps. EA substituted the red carpet for a green one, and most of the celebrities posed for our cameras.
Inside Strata, guests were treated to an open bar, bottomless sushi and numerous other delights, such as shrimp, the oh so delicious chicken on a stick and cheese pizza. There was music, a lot of dancing and free goodies from Gillette. Of course, if you were tired of drinking, there was always the game to play.
Overall, we had a great time, though we wish Tiger was available for interviews. But kudos to EA Sports for throwing an enjoyable bash. Let's hope something is in the works for NBA Live 09, which ships this October.
