The Witcher is being developed by Polish game developer CDProjekt. The game will be based on the fantasy stories of Andrzej Sapkowski. These stories are concerned with the exploits of a Witcher (monster hunter) named Geralt.
The web site contains a plethora of content that should intrigue gamers. To provide some back-story on the character of Geralt, a short story by Mr. Sapkowski has been translated from Polish. The tale provides some interesting insight into Geralt's world and Geralt himself.
The site also contains wallpaper, screenshots and a trailer. There is also information on the game's NPC's, monsters, storyline and game mechanics. Detailed information is also given on the highly customized Aurora engine that has been licensed from Bioware. The Aurora engine was used in crafting the popular Neverwinter Nights series of RPG games.
The Witcher is currently slated for release on the PC in early 2005.
