The GameDaily One-Minute Review
EA's The Urbz takes The Sims and plunges it into gritty urban environments, but, despite it being an enjoyable albeit slow paced game, it really doesn't push the genre forward. As an Urb living in Miniopolis, you must earn a good rep among your peeps, but you can also earn Simoleons, play several mini games, and trick out your pad with all sorts of good stuff. You can even create pets and visit the DS exclusive area Splicer Island, but for the most part the game is very similar for the GBA version. The graphics are average at best, and the music is pretty disposable. Also, use of the touch screen is restricted to navigating through menus and using it to play a few boring mini games, and your Urb requires more attention than a two year old, so you'll be constantly interrupted because you need to tend to their hunger or desire to poop. However, despite its shortcomings, The Urbz is a pretty deep adventure that'll suck away hours of your life.User Reviews
