Electronic Arts today announced details to latest incarnation in the popular The Sims franchise, The Sims 3. The major features of this new incarnation include a new "neighborhood," which will allow Sims to greater explore their environment along with a revamped personality system. EA also confirmed that The Sims 3 is expected to launch globally in 2009.
"In The Sims 3, Sims can go beyond the boundaries of their home lot, and immerse themselves in an open, living neighborhood, interacting with other Sims using our new deeper personality system," said Rod Humble, Head of The Sims Studio. "It is this type of open-ended gameplay that inspires endless creative possibilities. In addition the new goals and rewards systems will give players of all kinds from core gamers to storytellers the ability to enjoy long-term gameplay."
"The new engine and technologies in The Sims 3 are designed to unleash the player's imagination with realistic looking Sims who have distinct personalities and a seamless living neighborhood for them to discover," added Ben Bell, Executive Producer on The Sims 3. "Players are going to be thrilled by the level of realism in The Sims 3!"

i really hope sims 3 will have the follwing: 1.Being able to go with ur sims to school and work 2. There will be strollers so that babies and toddlers will be able to go outside too. 3.Seasons, weather, and holidays without an expansion pack. 4.Whole neighborhood will age with you. 5.More people to invite to paties 6.Pre-teen age (Age between child and teenager) 7.More of a story line.
Well, the Magic duels was alright. Sims kinda ran low with me. Was fun when I was like... 11?
And why would you want your sims to kill each other? Maybe you have the wrong game. Why don't you go play "Grand Theft Auto" & stay away from The Sims if they are too tame for you?

I think that the Sims 3 will be much more interesting. I am sure that they will relese new expansion packs also. The sims 1 did not have University, but The Sims 2 did. So I am hoping that they will think of new things for The Sims to do. I also hope that they re-release the expansion pack for Sims Pets & all those ones. Maybe those will also be better. Maybe different types of pets, or they can do even more things. I guess we'll have to wait to find out. I am even buying a brand new PC with lots of memory etc. so that I can play The Sims 3 without it being slow, like it is now on my older PC!!!! I LOVE The SIms!!!! I can not wait!!!

Im way excited for the release of sims3. Its proably the best game ive ever played. Its like therpy. if your day sucks go play sims and make theirs rock. all in all i cant wait.
