When celebrity Ashton Kutcher posted on his Twitter profile that he wanted to beat the CNN Twitter to 1 million followers, we thought it was just a silly popularity contest. But now EA's upped the ante by offering Ashton's millionth follower every single EA game of 2009 as well as the opportunity to be featured in The Sims 3. The prize was confirmed by an EA Rep on Wednesday afternoon.

Most interestingly, CNN didn't even own the Twitter account the Kutcher was competing against until today (as reported in Tech Crunch).

EA's official Twitter account posted the following message this afternoon:

Our offer: @aplusk's 1,000,000th follower will get a copy of every game EA makes in '09 for their system and be featured in @TheSims3

No details yet on what "being featured" means -- it could be as awesome as a character based on you in one of the starting houses, or as 'meh' as having your name in the credits. What we do know is that there are definitely some big EA games coming out this year, including Rock Band: Beatles, Madden 2010 and Dead Space: Extraction.

How do you enter? You'll need to sign up with Twitter, and then hit up Ashton Kutcher's Twitter profile and be his 1,000,000th follower -- you can check the number on the right-hand side of his profile. At the time of this writing, the count was 911,495. Good luck!
