The Chessmaster games have almost been around as long as the PC. Ubisoft has now released next iteration of this venerable game series Chessmaster 10th Edition for the PC. To add some interactivity to this election season, Ubisoft has also released The Political Machine, developed by Stardock. The title allows the gamer to create their perfect presidential candidate and plan his or her quest to win the White House.

Chessmaster 10th Edition will feature a new graphics engine, a chess academy where players can learn to play chess and a new user interface. The game is geared for beginners all the way up to master level expertise.

On the wonkish front, The Political Machine allows players to pilot the candidacy of George W. Bush or John Kerry. Gamers can also select from dozens of historical figures, such as Ronald Reagan, Franklin D. Roosevelt or a combination of several. Players will have to contend with all aspects of politics, from garnering donations to making stump speeches and dealing with the media.

The Political Machine is rated "T" for Teen and retails for $19.99 and Chessmaster 10th Edition is rated "E" for Everyone and retails for $39.99.
