Today, SNK announced its lineup of games for E3. This selection ran the gamut of well-known SNK properties, from the King of Fighters series, to Metal Slug and Samurai Showdown. Between console ports, compilation packs, and new arcade games, SNK looks to make its biggest impact at E3 in years.

"We approach E3 loaded with product, content and great expectations for the coming year," commented Ben Herman, SNK NeoGeo USA Consumer Corporation president. "We believe that our fans will be thrilled with our line-up of products."

SNK's E3 Lineup:

  • King of Fighters: Maximum Impact (PS2)
  • Metal Slug 4 & 5 (PS2, Xbox)
  • King of Fighters 2002 & 2003 (PS2, Xbox)
  • Metal Slug 3 (Xbox)
  • SNK vs. Capcom SVC Chaos (Xbox)
  • Metal Slug Advance (GBA)
  • Samurai Shodown V (PS2, Xbox, Arcade)
  • Samurai Shodown V Special (PS2, Xbox, Arcade)

Worth noting, KOF: Maximum Impact, the first 3D title in the King of Fighters series, will apparently take center stage. The two Metal Slug and King of Fighters compilation packs will retail for only $39.99. Metal Slug Advance is not a port of an existing game, rather it's a whole new game that will somehow support the E-reader. While a Xbox version of Samurai Shodown V is indeed in production, only arcade and PS2 versions will be playable at E3. Finally, the absence of the PS2 version of SNK vs. Capcom SVC Chaos casts serious doubt on whether it is ever coming to the US. Released on Christmas day last year in Japan, US PS2 owners may never get a version of their own.
