Girls are fantastic, there's no doubt about it. But let's face it, some guys just want to take the easy way out rather than actually take the time to figure out their intellect and, well, get to know them. There are certain guys out there who have a better time going to a strip club and watching a girl bare all while slugging down $6 beers than going to a club and trying to socialize with one. The Girls Gone Wild video series has built upon this idea with their numerous DVD releases and infomercials, but the idea hasn't really translated to video games too well. BMX XXX, anyone? The game was so bad it eventually led to the shutdown of its parent company, Acclaim. However, Topheavy Studios has provided a new experience that's better than that extreme sports fest by keeping it simple, stupid. Enter The Guy Game.

The game mixes the trivial fundamentals of the popular You Don't Know Jack games (a set of trivia games back on the PlayStation that remain entertaining to this day, thanks to their smart-ass attitude) with the wild antics of Spring Break, featuring a number of beautiful women eager to bear their greatness to the digital world. In the game, you choose a particular model and work with her through a number of trivia and virtual challenges, anywhere from skee-ball to mini-soccer. The trivia mixes up in a rather interesting manner, where you have to guess some correct answers and then estimate what kind of answers she's going to provide. The closer you come to getting each answer right, the closer you come to seeing her in all her upper torso glory.

The game basically plays out like a Digital Pictures affair, relying a heavy deal on video clips and then working with a simplistic interface to get you further ahead. A wrong answer can knock you backward very quickly, leaving pixelation and black bars in place of what you want to see. The video is fairly crisp, however, without missing a beat in what it's trying to provide. Watching some of the mini-games later, like the girls bouncing on huge balls or trying to hula hoop topless, is priceless.

I actually liked the presentation, as basic as it may seem. It gets done what it sets out to do, and provides the kind of look that fits this game. Loading time is quick, and there are plenty of women and trivia to dig into. The sound department also comes through, thanks to a couple of commentators who provide some great smart-ass remarks during each game and a female assistant whose sultry voice is a big help at times (and, at others, a reminder of how much you suck).

It gets frustrating in single player, especially if you keep getting wrong answers that prevent you from reaching your boobified goal. However, the game excels in multiplayer mode, where up to four players can engage in the action. There's even a separate multiplayer game called "President", which engages in a lot of drinking action, so make sure you have a 12-pack (or preferably 24) around before you begin. And make sure the kids are out of the room and put to bed. This game clearly isn't for them.

My big complaint here is that the game is not Xbox Live compatible. This would have made for a huge addition to the game. The ability to download more video of women getting wasted in the South Padre islands, the ability to challenge different universities and drinking groups for pure Guy Game dominance...this would have been classic. As is, the action is limited to offline. It's still fun, but this element would have made a world of difference, especially for the $40 price tag.

The Guy Game sets out what it intended to do, and that's offer simple but fun trivia with elements of beauties involved and a hell of a drinking game thrown in on top. It's not a trend-setter, it won't become a must-have, and, let's face it, sensitive players will obviously pass it by quicker than the given action film, but for those particular types engrossed in partying it up and keeping it on their level, The Guy Game is a must-own.
