The Guy Game Preview (PS2)

Imagine an interactive version of Girls Gone Wild on your PS2 and Xbox. Yeah, that's about right.

The party game has been a staple in the gaming industry for some time. Gather a bunch of people together, hand them a controller and then give them a purpose for the game (basically winning or the decimation of all other players), and you could have hours of enjoyment built up around it. Bomberman's been known to be a great party game over the years, and other folks have also structured games around the party scene. Granted, most have failed; you don't really see too many people yanking out Pac-Man Fever, Muppets Party Cruise, or Disney Party trying to vie the attention of their guests. However, Topheavy Studios may have the ultimate party game on deck... at least for the guys.

The Guy Game is basically the equivalent of Mario Party meets Girls Gone Wild, where you compete in a number of engaging mini-games and are heavily rewarded by beautiful women showing their given goods upon completion of a certain number of tasks. In other words, you win a particular number of events and girls go topless for you. Granted, this could be met with a great deal of controversy, as such a promise was made in Acclaim's ill-fated BMX XXX and met with a bit of censorship, particularly on the PS2 (where black bars came into play). However, The Guy Game insists that the party isn't going to be blocked out when it comes to the PS2 and Xbox later this month; which means you'll get what you work for.

The stars will be removed in the final version.

The game's segments were shot in South Padre Island and feature live play-by-play commentary during each game with Dick Conrad and Steve Graves. Being a party game, you can expect lots of smart-ass comments and plenty of comments on the ladies, who you can choose at the beginning of each round to cheer you on and, of course, reward you upon a victory. Along with plenty of pre-taped segments, the game also features other mini-games, particularly the Ballz games, which include BallzIn, BallzOut, and BallzShots.

The Guy Game appears to be an effort built solely around the enjoyment of Spring Break and crammed into a video game. Granted, it won't be everyone's glass of beer, but those who find that kind of thing thrilling and enjoyable will probably want to look into it upon its arrival later this month.
