The GameDaily One-Minute Review
Richard Garriott's Tabula Rasa has finally materialized and it was worth the wait. This massively multiplayer online (MMO) science fiction game plays like a single player shooter but encompasses the social aspects of an MMO and has the soul of a role playing game. It will appeal to both hardcore gamers who want to spend hours exploring every square centimeter of this immense world, as well as the casual gamer who only wishes to play for 20 minutes at a time yet feels like they accomplished something. Garriott's goal was to create a game where players felt they were a part of something big – in this case a raging intergalactic war against an evil alien race set within a gorgeously rendered game world, complete with dynamically generated attacks and shifting control points that alter the game's landscape. This is definitely a virtual war worth fighting. Dive into the Extended Review for a complete mission briefing.User Reviews
