NCsoft Sees Nearly 20% Profit Increase for 2007 (PC)

NCsoft today announced its fiscal results for the year 2007. The company reported sales of 330 billion won ($355.1 million), a very slight drop year-over-year. Still, net profit saw a nearly 20 percent increase to 45 billion won ($48.4 million).

For the final quarter of 2007, the company reported sales of 89.1 billion won ($95.9 million), a greater than 10 percent increase over the third quarter. Net profit, however, saw only a marginal increase from the previous quarter, up to 10.3 billion won ($11.1 million). The launch of Richard Garriott's Tabula Rasa with sales of 5 billion won ($5.4 million) in addition to the continued success of Lineage and Lineage II, which brought in 31.8 billion won ($34.2 million) and 33.8 billion won ($36.4 million) respectively, were the biggest contributors to Q4 2007.

For fiscal 2008, NCsoft expects to reach an increase between 6 - 15 percent in sales to 350 - 380 billion won, with a 15 - 33 percent increase in operating profit to 57 - 66 billion won. Major releases for this year include Aion along with casual Korean online games such as Point Blank, Punch Monster, Dragonica and Love Beat.
