Logan's Shadow is not a huge leap in visual quality over Dark Mirror, but this is mainly because of the fidelity of its forerunner. Still, there are plenty of subtle touches that make the game stand out, especially considering the natural limitations of the PSP. Gamers will be hard pressed to tell that this isn't a late generation PS2 game, with fantastic lighting and textures, fluid animation with nary a drop in frame rate.
It not only pleases the eyes, but also the ears, with a fantastic soundtrack that is appropriately grand or minimal depending on the situation. The sound effects of weapons and explosions are robust, and the voice acting is top notch, doing a good job of syncing with lip movement in the cut scenes. The overall presentation looks extremely polished, with flashy menus that are easy to use and an unobtrusive heads up display.
Rounding out the package is a hearty multiplayer offering, allowing play over both ad-hoc and infrastructure modes. This portion of the game is similar to what is present in Dark Mirror, but beefed up, with more game play types and maps. There is enough content here to at least double the amount of time spent playing the game, and it greatly adds to the replay value.
We love Logan's Shadow, and there is little reason to not pick up this game. Buy it immediately.
