Reggie: Wii to Surpass 360 in U.S. by June (WII)

The Wii has sold out every month since its release globally in 2006. It has performed so impressively that Nintendo's system reportedly surpassed the Xbox 360 in worldwide console sales sometime late in the summer of 2007. The Xbox 360 performed well over the Fall, however, and even ran into some supply problems in January due to high volumes sales.

However, the Wii performed no less well, and continues to suffer from inadequate supply for the voracious demand. Citing this and other factors, Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aime, predicted to Bloomberg that the Wii will outpace the 360 in the U.S. by June 2008. Adding to the high demand for the hardware will be anticipated titles set to ship in 2008, including Wii Fit, Mario Kart Wii and Super Smash Bros. Brawl.
