Xbox Live Arcade

Along with a healthy portion of downloadable demos (including TimeShift and NHL 08), Xbox Live Arcade saw two wonderful additions this week.

Streets of Rage 2 (Sega, 400 points) -- Although the online play suffers from lag, the gameplay, visuals and Yuzo Koshiro soundtrack remain perfectly intact. Nothing beats hitting the streets and beating the crap out of everyone. RATING: 8 (out of 10)

Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo HD Remix (Capcom, 800 points) -- One of the best puzzle games ever conceived gets a hell of an upgrade, thanks to online play, additional play modes and touched-up graphics. RATING: 9 (out of 10)

PlayStation Network

This week was one of the best for Sony's online services, thanks to three new demos (Tiger Woods PGA Tour 08, All Pro Football 2K8, NASCAR 08) and three great new games to play.

Tekken Dark Resurrection Online (Namco Bandai, $9.99 or $29.99 bundled with Tekken DR) -- Although the online play is questionable at times due to lag, Tekken: DR gets a major boost with this add-on, opening the floor to all kinds of competition. Amateurs beware -- there are some hardcore players here. RATING: 8 (out of 10)

Warhawk (SCEA, $39.99) -- This multiplayer only game features outstanding aerial and ground battles. The graphics look terrific and the action runs non-stop, with only light bouts of lag. RATING: 8 (out of 10)

Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo (Capcom, $9.99) -- Take everything that was said about the XBLA version and remove the Achievements -- it's pretty much the same game. So, yeah, it rocks just as hard as that counterpart. RATING: 9 (out of 10)
