The GameDaily One-Minute Review

Sega's Super Monkey Ball Banana Blitz for the Nintendo Wii features 100 puzzles to complete, all of which utilize the system's new remote controller. Instead of using an analog stick to tilt the game board, players actually point the remote in a series of directions. The controls take some time to get used to and may get a little wonky whenever the remote strays too far from the Wii's sensor bar, but in the best setting (directly in front of the TV screen), things work great. Plus, Sega's packed in 50 motion controlled mini games including new ones like Fish Catcher (point the remote forward to spear fish) and Whack-a-Mole (quickly move the remote downwards to hammer moles) as well as old favorites Monkey Wars, Monkey Race, and Monkey Target. More stages would have been nice and the unnecessary boss fights do more harm than good, but overall, Monkey Ball Banana Blitz stands out as one of the Wii's best launch games.
