Capcom officially announced today that Street Fighter IV is in development. This follows the release of a teaser trailer on StreetFighterWorld.com in October. This announcement comes eight years after the release of Street Fighter III Third Strike.
Street Fighter IV will feature a mix of old and new elements. The fighting game will have the traditional six-button controls with the recognizable characters Ryu, Ken, Chun-Li, and Dhalsim fighting in a 2D environment. Street Fighter IV will also have brand-new 3D graphics, new special moves and unique gameplay systems.
No systems or release dates have been confirmed for Street Fighter IV.
