Arcade and hardcore gamer favorite, Street Fighter III: Third Strike is coming to PS2...
by David Radd on Wednesday, March 10, 2004
Capcom recently announced that they were bringing Street Fighter III: Third Strike to the PS2. While no solid release date has been set, the Japanese version will probably come during the summer with PAL and NA versions hopefully following a few months later. Street Fighter III: Third Strike will likely come in two varieties in Japan: one as a stand-alone version of the game and another as a "Collectors Edition" with extra CDs and artwork. It's unconfirmed if the game will have online options like the Dreamcast version.
While this announcement is a pleasant one for Street Fighter fans, why Capcom hasn't ported the nearly 5-year-old game to the PS2 sooner is still a mystery. Hopefully, US gamers can look forward to this and Street Fighter II: Anniversary Edition (which STILL hasn't been confirmed for North America) later this year.
