Recently, Capcom decided to give North American gamers a break. They announced Street Fighter Anniversary Collection for the US. This compilation pack will not only include Hyper Street Fighter II, but it will also feature Street Fighter III: Third Strike, which has previously only appeared in arcades and on the Sega Dreamcast.
Hyper Street Fighter II features versions of characters from Street Fighter II, Street Fighter II Champion Edition, Street Fighter II Hyper Fighting, Super Street Fighter II: The New Challengers, and Super Street Fighter II Turbo. You can mix and match characters from the different versions of Street Fighter II in the various game modes. Street Fighter III: Third Strike was originally released in arcades 5 years ago, and has remained a fan favorite because of its fluid animation and deep fighting system. No word as to whether the Street Fighter: The Animated Movie (which was included in the Japanese version) will be included or if either game will feature online play. Street Fighter Anniversary Collection should release sometime this summer.
