Eyetronics Has Stranglehold on 3D Scanning (PS3)

Doesn't Inspector Tequila Yuen look awesome in the recently released Stranglehold? That's thanks in no small part to the efforts of Eyetronics and their state of the art 3D scanning techniques.

Eyetronics announced today that it provided 3D scanning for Stranglehold. They created 3D models of Chow Yun-Fat and John Woo, traveling to Hong Kong and Santa Monica, California to scan them. Eyetronics has also done 3D scanning for Mass Effect and Major League Baseball 2K7.

"Eyetronics' state-of-the-art scanning process allowed us to capture all the minute details we needed to create the most realistic portrayal of ChowYun-Fat possible," said Brian Eddy, director of Stranglehold. "From scanning and processing the images, to placing them in a format that allowed us to quickly integrate them into our art pipeline, Eyetronics was a great relationship that made the entire process an incredibly enjoyable experience."

"Chow Yun-Fat and John Woo are well known international stars and their virtual characters defy the law of physics in Stranglehold, so it was critical for them to be perfectly captured," said Nick Tesi, Vice President of Operations for Eyetronics in the U.S. and Canada. "Midway allowed us unprecedented freedom in the 3D scanning process and trusted us to deliver world-class images."

Created by Midway, Stranglehold is out now for PS3, PC and Xbox 360.
