E3 2006: Sony Demands L.A. Plays Beyond (PS3)

What happens when a pre-emptive ad campaign strikes L.A.? We dig deeper!

Well, it's one day before the big Sony PlayStation 3 press conference unfolds in their headquarters in Culver City, but the push for the PS3 is already beginning with an elaborate ad campaign in and around the Los Angeles Convention Center, deep within the heart of the city. Some eagle-eyed bloggers spotted the following ads and decided to share them with us...

Edward Scissorhands plays rock, paper, scissors with the Terminator. Either that or Wolverine's cousin is trying to reach for an invisible beer and the bouncer's stopping him. This is draped over one of the outside halls at E3, and is clearly visible from the road.

A nice little side building design, looking like something out of the Grand Canyon. Again, large and very noticeable.

A smaller ad, to be sure, but certainly the same in terms of what it's trying to say. Still, crossing over hot lava with rings? Someone build a bridge, man! Not all of us staffers have upper arm strength. (Fortunately, I do.)

We'll have the full details on Sony's press conference tomorrow as it happens, right here on GameDaily. In the meantime, get yourself ready and check out this ad...

Chow Yun-Fat battles the L.A. traffic system. He'll need more than guns.
