While the surprise was spoiled by leaks a few days ago, Blizzard officially announced the Ozzy Osbourne will be the closing act at BlizzCon 2009, which runs from August 21-22 at the Anaheim Convention Center. If you're an Ozzy fan and don't currently have one of the $125 tickets for the event, you're out of luck as the annual expo for all things Blizzard sold out in eight minutes (and there were 20,000 tickets available).

For those who are outside the convention halls, you can watch live updates through Blizzard's site or through a Pay Per View event through DirecTV for $39.95.

In a press release, issued by the company, "Ozzy will unleash a thunderous spectacle of rock to put the Lich King in his place and cement his own title as the one true Prince of Darkness."

With some many varieties of bat in World of Warcraft, Osbourne's performance may be one for the record books.
