The new Star Wars: The Force Unleashed novel topped The New York Times bestsellers list for hardcover fiction over the weekend, beating out a handful of books with topics ranging from murder (Smoke Screen by Sandra Brown) to terrorists, nazis and a few paranormal-themed books. Does that mean Star Wars fans are desperately seeking redemption after The Clone Wars movie dud? Or, is this foreshadowing for big-time sales of the game with the same name, due in stores on September 16.
Authors have been cranking out books on Star Wars since the late '70s, shortly after the first film was released (there's roughly 100 or so listed on this Wikipedia page). We took quick inventory and found these retro gems (see below), first a series on Han Solo and then another on Lando Calrissian. Solid!
