Lucasarts today announced that the Xbox version of Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords will be released in December 2004 in North America. PC and international iterations of Sith Lords are not affected by the announcement and still retain the original February 2005 ship date.

"We were hoping we could bring the Xbox platform into December but didn't want to make the formal announcement until we knew an earlier ship date would not compromise the quality of The Sith Lords," commented Producer Mike Gallo. "We recently completed a very important milestone which confirmed we can confidently do this."

Developed by Obsidian Entertainment, Sith Lords is set five years after the events of the first game. Recent rumors suggest that Knights of the Old Republic III is already in pre-production for next generation systems.
