With Will Wright's Spore nearly upon us this week, EA Mobile sent word today to remind us that Spore Origins for iPhone and iPod touch will be available this month as well (apparently this Sunday along with the official Spore launch). Spore on the iPhone will take advantage of the device's accelerometer to let players "navigate a primordial tidepool on a quest to evolve."

"We're really excited to bring Spore Origins to the iPhone and iPod touch," said Travis Boatman, Vice President Worldwide Studios at EA Mobile. "By leveraging the unique capabilities of these devices, players can customize their own creatures and shape their destiny in an exciting evolutionary journey."

EA is getting fully behind the popular iPhone and iPod touch. The company today also announced nine other titles that are in development for the platform. These include popular licenses as well as EA properties. The games listed are Yahtzee Adventures, EA Mini Golf, Lemonade Tycoon, Mahjong, Monopoly: Here & Now The World Edition, SimCity, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09, Need for Speed Undercover, and The Sims 3.
