While Spore's claim to fame remains focused on the creation and evolution of one's creatures, EA Maxis has been secret about its ambitions to take the popular game and remold Spore into a brand. Until now.

This week, in an article from BigDownload.com, the developer unveiled the Spore: Galactic Adventures expansion for PC players and a full-version game for kids called Spore Creature Keeper.

Nintendo Wii players won't be left behind either as Spore Hero will arrive later this year as a new Spore Hero Arena game (the second Spore game for the Nintendo DS) is also destined for a 2009 release. While details are thin, EA told BigDownload that both games will skew towards younger players with focus on adventure. Considering that EA Maxis recast its The Sims series into a more adventure-like game with MySims, the new Spore games might feel familiar.
