The in-game appearance of the characters, backdrops and other details don't really take advantage of the Xbox 360. Friend Or Foe provides a washed-out appearance, but that doesn't mean the game looks horrible. It's meant to look this way, harking back to the comic books. The frame rate is pretty solid and the animations stay true to their characters, with Doc Ock swinging around his metallic limbs and Venom wiggling his trademark tongue just like Gene Simmons. The game's aural presence is pretty much right on cue with what it needs to be, with terrific voicework making up for the otherwise average sound effects and music.

Friend Or Foe can be easily beaten within a matter of hours, although fighting alongside a friend makes it worth going through numerous times. It would've been nice to have a few more extras, though. While there are several characters here, their count is far less than what was available in the Marvel: Ultimate Alliance's cast. The multiplayer arenas are a nice touch, but aren't interactive enough. Finally, those wanting to take the game online simply won't be able to, as this game doesn't have Xbox Live options.

Spider-Man: Friend Or Foe harkens back to the old-school beat-em-ups of yore. It may look somewhat crude and not have many weapons in its arsenal, but it sure knows how to pack a punch.
