Space Invaders Extreme throws enough new creative elements into the gameplay mix (high powered weapons, an engaging combo system, boss battles) on top of trippy graphics and a frenetic soundtrack to make it feel fresh. Sadly, there are only five stages (each taking about 10 minutes to complete) and local Wi-Fi multiplayer. Nevertheless, for its budget $20 price, this is a great introduction for those who missed the glory days of gaming or a pleasant welcome back to those who loved the original.
