The GameDaily One-Minute Review
Sonic the Hedgehog stumbles yet again, this time in the Wii video game, Sonic and the Secret Rings. A stylish presentation and enjoyable music unfortunately gives way to shoddy controls, an awful story and lame objectives. Instead of working towards a logical goal, Sega forces players to complete a level by killing 20 enemies, collecting 99 rings or survive without breaking pots. Furthermore, the developers created nonsensical environments ill equipped to handle the speed of a lightning fast hedgehog. Obstructions such as cacti, rocks and slow moving sequences undermine the whole point of playing a Sonic game: to go ridiculously fast. Sure, 40 party games add value, but they don't save Secret Rings from mediocrity.User Reviews
