The Internet was aflutter when news that publisher Konami, best known for its Metal Gear Solid and Dance Dance Revolution games, picked up 'Six Days in Fallujah,' a controversial shooter based on a bloody 2004 battle in Iraq.
Now the publisher has decided to drop the game after backlash in the U.S. and U.K.
Family members of war victims publicly denounced the game, saying the game will "profit off the deaths of people close to [them]." Other critics were shocked to hear that Iraqi insurgents also had a role in creating the game.
A few Iraq war vets stepped up in support of the game, saying they're OK with a game that presents realistic version of the battle. About 40 U.S. soldiers assisted in the game's creating by offering their diaries to the game developers.
Of course, there are countless video games set in other wars, but perhaps this is a sign that the country is not ready to explore a conflict that's hasn't reached its final conclusion.
No word on whether another publisher will pick up this game; we'll keep our ears open over the next few weeks.

i don't know if it's the pathetic left wing *****'s as you say, because the article clearly states the families of the soldiers that were killed were against the game. but, i don't expect anyone in the right wing to have an IQ over 75, so i can see where you'd be confused, as you're known for your complete ignorance of anything said to you that you don't agree with. soldiers helped make it, so it should be able to roll.
that is a bunch of crap, I'm tired of all the ******* wining about every ****in thing, jesus christ
What a load of bull****, i was looking forward to this title and because of the pathetic left wing liberal *****'s, a decent looking shooter was canned. sure, it was based off a terrible true event but this was just a ****ing video game.
